Bible study on a Sunday morningTeens in Christ
This group is aimed at Key Stages 4 and 5 (Post 16) (aged 14 to 18 years) and meets in the Coffee Centre.
The young people examine the topic of the service and apply in to their lives in a variety of lively ways.

Youth Housegroup
Following one housegroup session, the young people have been keen to explore the practical side of their faith. They visited The Crypt at St George’s Church in Leeds which has been helping homeless people for many years.
They were so moved by their visit that they decided to undertake a sponsored sleep out in the middle of Ilkley in July. They raised nearly £100 but also engaged with a wide variety of local people about why they wanted to do this. It was an eye opener of a night for all concerned!

Explorers Camp
This year, several of our young people attended Explorers Camp in Ripon. They lived in tents and explored the bible and played lots of fun games. You can see some photos and check out next year's dates on the Explorers Camp website.

One night being homelessThe teenagers of Christchurch spent a night on the streets of Ilkley to raise awareness about homelessness in Britain.  They were inspired by a visit to St George’s Crypt in central Leeds which provides care and support for homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the city.
They spent much of the night in the doorway of the former Woolworths store on Bridge Street. At the end of the night, Booths Supermarket provided them with a hearty breakfast.
Rev Rob Hilton, minster of Christchurch, who spent part of the night with the young people on the streets commented how encouraged they were by the interest shown, especially by the young people in town for a drink on a Friday evening.  “They were willing to hear about the work of St George's crypt and contribute to the collection which raised £95  towards the homeless centre in Leeds.  It's a very humbling experience sitting on a blanket in a shop doorway, looking up into people's faces and asking them for money" Rob said.
All year round Christchurch collects non perishable food items for use by St George’s Crypt.  There is a box in the Coffee Centre for donations, and the Harvest Festival collection, on Sunday 20th September, will also be sent to St George’s.
The young people meet regularly to learn about the Christian faith and faith in action and the demand for more activities for young people at Christchurch has prompted the church to advertise for a new community worker to work with children, young people and families in Ilkley.
