Riddings Ramblers
The Riddings Ramblers is the name given to an informal group of Christchurch members and friends, who meet once a month except in December and January, for a walk of 6 to 8 miles. A leader is selected from the group for each walk. Some walks start from Ilkley and others involve a short car journey or bus or train ride, often into the magnificent scenery of the Yorkshire Dales or the Pennines. In summer it is usual to take a picnic lunch but, when the weather is unreliable, a pub lunch is sometimes incorporated into the itinerary. Alternate walks are held on a Saturday, but walks are also held on Thursdays and Fridays. Numbers vary from about 6 to 20 according to the day and other commitments. Walks are usually easy to moderate in difficulty but walking boots and weatherproof clothing are required. Information about the next walk(s) can be obtained from the church office.
It is a pleasant way to get to know people and to keep fit!
cheerful? enjoying the view big open spaces striding out end of the walk!

varied but all the walks have been most enjoyable. New walkers are always
welcome and volunteers to lead walks in 2009 are greatly appreciated. Please
telephone Lynda Willis via the Office and let her know which walk you would be
