A Roof Over Our Heads

This is the name for our Stewardship 2012.
We need to raise £120 000 for essential repairs to the roof, but will give 15% of the money we raise (in line with our ususal giving) to Caring For Life who seek to put a roof over the heads of folk in Leeds.

At the same time, we are looking to be visionary about our premises, and how we use them both for worship and as part of serving our community in Ilkley. We have some exciting ideas within a feasability study put together by ourselves and architects.

This is the programme so far:

• Caroline Holt, from the Wesley Ark project and Margaret Whitton spoke at a recent service regarding exploring and implementing a vision.
• Housegroups have begun to study the book of Malachi.
• On Sunday 5 February, Malachi will form part of the morning services and will include Rev Lisa Holmes who was involved in preparing material on Malachi for Spring Harvest 2011
• A service at the end of February will focus on the architect led feasibility study to consider what plans we might have for our premises
• In March the Coffee Centre will be open on Saturday afternoon to fund raise for the Roof Over our Heads appeal and will include Tours of the Future to consider future possibilities
• The Stewardship Launch Sunday will be at end of March and will include the distribution of  papers on giving, people’s priorities, discerning spiritual gifts etc
• Replies will be due in by the end of April
• Feedback on the response will be provided at a further service in May 2012
